MUSIC CLUBS FOR P1 & P2

VENUE: The Parish Church, Keir Street, Bridge of Allan
TIME: Friday 3.45 til 4.30

Margo Mouse's Music Club was set up specifically for children in Primary 1 & 2. There was a feeling amongst some parents that once their children had left my Pre-School workshops there was very little music available outside of school.

I felt it was important that the Music Club should be a fun place for the children to be rather than a formal teaching class. Therefore the workshops will incorporate musical games & stories as well as singing and dancing around.

As parents we all can appreciate that children learn when they are having fun and after a busy week at school I hope the children will find the Music Club and exciting place to be.

THE WORKSHOPS: Workshops are designed to allow children in Primary 1 & Primary 2 to experience a variety of music from Rock to Classical.

We will explore the sounds of World Music learning about different countries as we listen & move to the music.

Children will use a variety of percussion instruments and they will learn about Pitch, Tempo & the Duration of sounds.

During the workshops we will encourage the children to sing along to the different songs both with & without music. It is important for everyone to feel comfortable in their surroundings therefore all the children are made to feel at ease in the workshops. A variety of puppets will be used to develop confidence within the group and they will play an important part within some songs and stories.
